Since 1929, Fontenille Pataud has been perpetuating the art of French cutlery in Thiers, the knife capital of the world. Specializing in top-of-the-range knives, our company combines traditional craftsmanship with technical innovation to create one-of-a-kind pieces prized by connoisseurs and collectors the world over. Each knife is handcrafted in our workshop by passionate artisans, with constant attention to detail and quality.
In 2024, we launched immersive knifemaking workshop. These unique experiences enable enthusiasts to discover and learn how to handle the tools of the cutler, in the company of our experts. These workshops are accessible to beginners and experienced amateurs alike, and offer the rare opportunity to leave with your own creation.
From spring 2025, we will be opening our doors to the general public with guided tours of the company. Go behind the scenes of our workshop to discover the ancestral gestures, the machines, and the spirit of perfection that drives our team. An authentic experience for the curious and those with a passion for craftsmanship.
Fontenille Pataud is not just a cutlery house, it’s an immersion in artisanal excellence, in the heart of the Livradois-Forez region.
