Route description
This tour takes you through the Balaty national forest.
Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : Turn left onto a wide forest track. At the next junction, continue left
, ignoring all the side paths. The path gradually descends, veers to the right and then climbs
to an esplanade. Continue straight ahead on a footpath. At the T junction, turn right and climb
straight up a possibly damp track to a barrier bordering a wide path. Follow this to
right, always straight ahead. Go past point 1 to reach the road. Cross it (watch out for cars) and
turn right onto the small road signposted ‘Les Pizoux-Vieux Bourg’. Take the first road on the right. At
cemetery, take the road on the right to get back to the starting point.

No start sign.
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on the weather conditions, some routes are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even prohibited, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked paths. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your rubbish.
