Step 1 : Start at Place des Héros in Volvic. With your back to the square, take the dirt track between the two buildings. After 300m, join the tarmac road and turn right. Turn right at the next junction, cross the D50 and drive around Etang Grand. Cross back over the D50 towards the stadium.

Step 2 : Turn right at the crow’s-foot, then left and right to reach the hamlet of l’Etang. Follow the road along the square to the intersection before the farm.

Step 3 : Turn left, then right uphill at the next intersection. Cross the D575 and turn left at the entrance to Montcognol ; turn left at the water treatment plant. On the descent, turn right, then left after 20m. After the “tiled area”, turn left uphill
then left again at the asphalt road.

Step 4 : Continue along the road (watch out for traffic). At the entrance to the village, stay on the Rue Romaine (farm to the right, overhanging side road). Reach the church, then turn left and return to Place des Héros.
