Route description
In the hollow of the Dore valley, the path winds up to a small plateau where you can admire Forez and the mountains to the west, before descending to the Dore gorges and why not finish with a visit to the Park house ?

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : From the Maison du Parc Livradois-Forez in Saint-Gervais-sous-Meymont, drive up and through the village. At the exit, take the left-hand path. Leave another on the left.
Step 2 : On a flat area, turn right towards the Combe houses. At the road, take the downhill path in front of the low bridge wall. Cross the stream and take the path on the right. Continue uphill past the left-hand hairpin. At the D254 (view of the Dore valley, Monts du Forez and Grün de Chignore), turn right. At Griolles, turn right down the track. At the crossroads in the woods, take the track on the left. Keep to this path.
Step 3 : Turn right into Lauphant and climb the road (view of the Forez mountains). Cross Le Bouchet and turn left down the road, then right onto the D254. At the crossroads, take the D259 towards Olliergues. After 300 m, take the right-hand track behind a shed. Keep to this path and come out of the woods (view of the Dore valley, Monts du Forez and Chaîne des Puys). At the crossroads, turn right, then immediately left.
Step 4 : In Pradat, take the track on the left. At the crossroads, take the track on the left (view of Château de Blanchisse). Keep to the same path (view of the Forez mountains) until you reach a road, which you follow in the opposite direction. Before the first house in Guimoye, take the right-hand path downhill through the woods.
Next step
Step 5 : Cross the D259 and take the track on the left. Keep to this path, cross a stream and turn right at the road. Cross the Constancis and Thiaudat rivers. At the fountain, take the left-hand path. Go right at the crossroads. At the Pouillades cross, take the road on the left. After the second bend, take the right-hand track. Back in 1, in the meadows, turn right to reach the Maison du Parc.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

From the Parc Livradois-Forez house in Saint-Gervais-sous-Meymont, drive through the village. At the exit, take the left-hand path. Leave another on the left.
