Route description
A village of blond stone, perched on a hill, Montpeyroux is easily recognizable. The hiking trail is accessible to families and will allow you to stroll through the pretty alleys and admire the horizon during a short walk.
Starting point – From the starting sign on the car park, pass in front of the community centre and turn left at the roundabout (place de l’Hume). Go up the rue des Granges. In front of the medieval porch, after the church, turn left into rue de Tralume. Go down(…)

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : Du panneau de départ sur le parking, passer devant la salle polyvalente et tourner à gauche au rond-point (place de l’Hume). Monter la rue des Granges. Devant le porche médiéval, après l’église, prendre à gauche la rue de Tralume. Descendre à gauche les escaliers, traverser la rue devant une croix et rejoindre la route goudronnée. La descendre jusqu’au premier carrefour.
Step 2 : Continuer tout droit sur cette route, et après un grand virage, laisser un chemin qui part à gauche vers le château de Chadieu et descendre vers l’Allier. Laisser un chemin à droite et poursuivre jusqu’au site d’escalade “Les Rochettes”.
Step 3 : À 80 m environ, prendre un petit chemin à droite qui rejoint les premières maisons de Coudes entre jardins et falaise. Remonter sur une dizaine de mètres la rue du Nord et à droite le chemin du Cuel. À la fourche, prendre le chemin de droite, et monter tout droit pour revenir au carrefour du point 1. Tourner à gauche pour remonter sur Montpeyroux. À 100 m, prendre à gauche pour atteindre la croix de pierre. Monter les escaliers et prendre à droite la rue de Tralume. Devant le porche médiéval, prendre à droite pour rejoindre le parking.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
South of Clermont-Ferrand, on the A75 freeway, take exit 7 towards Montpeyroux. Compulsory parking at the entrance to the village.
