This trail through the wild and unspoilt Livradois-Forez countryside offers many testimonies to the past and to the life of man in this region : granite crosses, St-Eloy fountain, Croix des Rameaux and Croix des Rapans. Beautiful views of the Forez mountains.
Step 1 : Cross the D39, fork left, walk 50 m and take the first dirt track on the right, parallel to the road. Go straight on for almost a km, leaving the tracks on your right. Turn right onto the basalt forest track and continue straight on for a further km.
Step 3 : At the intersection, turn left. From Salles, follow the tarmac road. At the D105, turn right and, 30 m further on, take the wide track on the left that leads to Le Griffol. Before the road, turn left onto a footpath and pass between two buildings. Cross the D39 to take the track opposite. Cross the D39 to reach the Mairie.

Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine, take the D996 towards Ambert. After less than a kilometer, turn right onto the D39 towards Saint-Eloy la Glacière. After 4km, keep following signs for Saint Eloy la Glacière. The start is at the town hall.
