Hiking route BOUCLE
Marking Blue
A pleasant hike in the cool Bourelles woods, starting from Orcival and its basilica.
– Orcival and its basilica.
– Near Orcival : Cordès castle.
Step 1 : From Place de l’Eglise, take the road towards Les 4 Routes, alongside the “Ajasserie” hotel. At the stop sign, cross the D27 and take the road opposite to the Notre-Dame chapel.
Step 2 : Take the left-hand path beneath the chapel to the hamlet of “La Croix”, which you cross. At the end of the road, turn right onto a wide track that follows the GR 30. Continue straight ahead until you reach a crow’s-foot.
Step 3 : Go right up to a wood. Walk alongside it (view of the Chaîne des Puys on the left). Descend on this wide track along the edge of the wood to a T-junction.
Step 4 : Climb to the right (leaving the GR), and right again at the next crow’s-foot. The path skirts the puy de Gravenoire and arrives on the plateau perpendicular to a wide track.
Step 5 : Turn left on this track and, at the first crossroads, turn left again on a wide path through the forest. Continue straight ahead to the edge of the wood (view of the Chaîne des Puys). Enter the forest again, following the path to the right. At the T-junction at the end of the wood (view of the Tuilière and Sanadoire rocks on the left), turn left down the wide track to the road.
Step 6 : Follow this road to the right for 100 m, then fork right again onto a track below. Go down to a farm and follow a tarmac track and then a road to the right until you reach the D27. Cross the road to reach the starting point.
