Near Lac Chambon, you leave Murol, dominated by its feudal castle, for the ancient fortified village of Saurier.

Step 1 : Near Lac Chambon, you leave Murol, dominated by its feudal castle, for the ancient fortified village of Saurier.
Step 2 : After a long climb, where we invite you to stop for a look at the puy du Brionnet with its breathtaking view from the chapel on Mont Brionnet, you’ll reach the Cézallier plateau.
Step 3 : In Chassagne, a detour can be made to discover the Cistercian abbey of Mégemont.
Step 4 : Then on to La Godivelle : a peat bog with a rich flora (Lac d’En-Bas) and a superb crater lake (Lac d’En-Haut), perfectly circular.
Step 5 : You’ll drive along Lac de Bourdouze before reaching the medieval town of Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise, with its Romanesque church, narrow streets and grey stone houses with slate roofs.
Step 6 : The descent to Murol offers exceptional panoramic views.
