Route description
This tour takes you on a journey through time… from Gallo-Roman times to the time of the knights !
At the gateway to the cutlery town of Thiers, you leave Pont-de-Dore for Lezoux and its Ceramics Museum, which traces the history of ceramics production back to Gallo-Roman times.
A pleasant, often shady drive takes you to Ravel and its magnificent château with its terrace designed by Le Nôtre.

Step 1 : Aux portes de la cité coutelière de Thiers, vous quitterez Pont-de-Dore pour rejoindre Lezoux et son musée de la Céramique retraçant l’histoire de production de céramique à l’époque gallo-romaine.
Step 2 : Vous gagnerez, par un agréable parcours souvent ombragé, Ravel et son magnifique château à sa terrasse dessinée par Le Nôtre.
Step 3 : Vous passerez ensuite par Billom, célèbre cité médiévale.
Step 4 : Et vous continuerez votre parcours vers le château de Mauzun, forteresse du XIIIe siècle souvent appelée le Géant d’Auvergne.
Environ 3 h 55 pour une vitesse moyenne de 20 km/h.
