Departing from Viscomtat, this 26.3 km, 904 m climb takes you into the heart of the Bois Noirs, with a gradual ascent to the border between the Puy-de-Dôme and Loire departments.
The first part of the route climbs steadily through the forest, gaining altitude until it reaches the crests, where the trail approaches 1,000 m for several kilometers. This high passage offers a wild and unspoilt atmosphere, with unobstructed views of the surrounding massifs.
The descent to Viscomtat alternates between wooded stretches and more open areas, offering sweeping views of the Monts du Forez and Bois Noirs.
