After crossing the Lembron region on the first stage, you’ll reach the Cézallier high summer pasture plateaus on the second. This area, sometimes compared to the Mongolian steppes, has a number of similarities : the very low population density, the vast green expanses, bare of trees and left to herds to graze, and the sometimes harsh climatic conditions.

The route crosses these expanses punctuated by hills, streams and peat bogs. In the commune of Saint-Alyre ès Montagne, you’ll pass through the hamlet of Jassy, where a river flows through to form some very pretty waterfalls that are accessible on foot. The stage ends at the summer/winter resort of Parrot – in the commune of Anzat le Luguet – from where there are numerous hiking and mountain-biking trails.
