Route description
From the medieval village of Saint-Floret, you can cross the Pède bridge to discover orchards, meadows and old terraced vineyards. Beautiful views over the village and the gorges of the couze Pavin.
Starting point – From the sign in Saint-Floret, on the Hôtel des Voyageurs car park, place du Marronnier, crossroads between the D26 and the D627, follow the Couze upstream, along the D26, towards Saurier for 200 m.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : From the Saint-Floret sign, in the Hôtel des Voyageurs parking lot, Place du Marronnier, junction of the D26 and D627, follow the Couze upstream, along the D26, towards Saurier for 200 m.
Step 2 : Just before the speed bump, turn right onto the Chemin de la Rochette, which climbs through the gardens to the top of the hill.
Step 3 : 20 m after the high-voltage line, take the wide track on the left and go downhill opposite the houses. At the 1st crossroads, turn left and follow the EDF line (as you climb, you’ll see a view of the village and the Chastel church). Ignore the first crossroads and keep to the left. At the crow’s-foot, keep to the right on the path up to the plateau. Cross the parking lot, passing under the high-voltage power line, and take the track opposite which joins the road.
Step 4 : Turn right towards the village of Clémensat. Go through the village as far as the fountain, then continue on the road to Saint-Floret. At the end of the village, opposite the campsite, turn left for 20 m, then right (uphill, view of the terraces : pailhats) and continue to a path on the right (view of the Chastel church on the other side of the valley).
Next step
Step 5 : Leave the track and follow this path downhill perpendicularly to the right, then 300 m further on, turn left for 400 m. Turn right onto the small, steep path that descends opposite the village. At the crossroads, take the road to the right and cross the village to return to the starting point.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From Clermont-Ferrand, take the A75, exit 6 (Champeix, Besse, Saint-Nectaire). In Champeix, head for Saint-Nectaire, then in the bend after the square, take the D28 on the left towards Clémensat and Saint-Floret (7 km).
