Route description

Leaving from Villosanges, this is a pleasant woodland walk that skirts the Verne-Labouesse lake and passes through hedgerows and forests.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : Du panneau de départ, sur la place, derrière l’église, descendre vers le monument aux Morts et prendre à gauche la D60. Tourner à gauche après la mairie puis prendre en face une petite sente herbeuse. Traverser le ruisseau et monter au hameau de Chauvence (Croix de Mission – 1924). Après la croix, virer à gauche. Au croisement de quatre chemins, partir en face. Poursuivre ce large chemin en bordure de bois jusqu’à un autre croisement de quatre chemins.

Step 2 : Aller à gauche et continuer tout droit sur le chemin principal jusqu’à un embranchement en T. Partir à droite sur le grand chemin en ignorant, à quelques mètres, le chemin qui monte le plus à droite. Poursuivre jusqu’à une intersection près d’un étang.

Step 3 : Prendre à gauche, contourner l’étang, et ignorer le chemin face au déversoir. À l’intersection suivante, monter à gauche. Au croisement, aller en face jusqu’à une petite route goudronnée (Croix de Milan – 1959).

Step 4 : Prendre le chemin en face de la croix. Le poursuivre jusqu’à une intersection. Aller à gauche jusqu’à une croix en fer.

Step 5 : Partir à droite, et à la fourche, à l’entrée du village, s’orienter à gauche. Rester sur la gauche pour rejoindre le point de départ.

Access

From Pontaumur, 45 km west of Clermont, take the D206 to the right in the middle of the village, towards Landogne. At the hamlet of Les Isserts, take the D60 to Villosanges. Parking lot behind the church.
