Step 1 : From the church, drive along the college and, at the crossroads, go straight on. At the traffic circle, take the D305 towards Trézioux, skirting the cemetery and continuing on the D305 (with a view of the ruined Boissonnelle tower). Cross the bridge and immediately turn right. After 100 m, pass the fence through the gate and follow the meadow to the left. Go through a second fence (close the fence) and stay on the path across the field.

Step 2 : At the road, follow it to the left, then turn right towards Paravesse. Go straight through the hamlet. Shortly afterwards, turn left towards Echalier. In the hamlet, at the pond, take the footpath on the left. Cross the D305 and take the track opposite into the woods. Keep to this path until you reach the D997.

Step 3 : Follow this road to the right for 150 m (beware of fast-moving traffic), then take the track on the left. At the crossroads, in the hamlet of Les Brousses, take the road on the left (view of Pierre-sur-Haute). 250 m further on, at the bend, leave the road and take a track on the right (A-R moulin des Graveyroux : 1 km). Cross the D338 and take the road opposite. Continue straight ahead. At Moulin des Gravières, cross the stream by the footbridge and continue along the same path.

Step 4 : 50 m after the footbridge, at the crow’s-foot, go straight ahead and 10 m after, at the second crow’s-foot, turn right. Continue on the same road to Chalus. On leaving Chalus, continue on the road opposite. At the next crossroads, take the track opposite. At the crow’s-foot, turn right (with a view of Saint-Dier-d’Auvergne and the Forez mountains) and continue on this track as far as La Valade.
