Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : From the start sign at Place de l’Eglise (12th-century Romanesque church), turn right onto the first road opposite the war memorial. Continue to a calvary and take the path on the right. Go straight on down to the road. Follow it to the right as far as the middle of Sagne (view of the Les Fades lake).

Step 2 : Go left down the grassy path towards the lake to the road. Follow it to the left as far as the second hairpin bend.

Step 3 : Turn left onto a path (wooden barrier at the start), then climb up into the woods on the winding path (halfway up, information and view of the Sioule gorges). At the T-junction, turn right. Continue uphill on the main path. Once on the plateau, continue straight ahead (view of the Chaîne des Puys). At the entrance to the village of La Brousse, at the fork in the road (large lime tree), turn left onto the Chemin des Plagnaux as far as the bus shelter.

Step 4 : Go left as far as the intersection. Take the left-hand path down into the woods. At the next crossroads, turn right down the main path, then left at the hairpin bend. Before the end of the descent, turn right onto a path which crosses a stream and leads slightly uphill into the woods. Continue downhill to another stream. Continue upwards, crossing the stream several times. Turn left away from the stream and climb up to the road.

Next step

Step 5 : Turn left down the road, then take the first path on the right. Go straight up to reach a fork (wooden cross), turn left and continue to the road. Go left, then 20 m further on, ignore the road on the left and rejoin the starting point.
