Step 1 : From the parking lot, in Jean-Moulin Square, past the war memorial, turn left into chemin des Chardières. Cross the main road. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead on a farm track, alongside oak trees, then keep left at the edge of the field and follow the pond to the track. Turn right and after 30 m turn left into the woods. Follow the track to the road, turn right and continue straight on past the houses. At the crossroads, fork right and cross the hamlet. Continue straight on uphill to the crossroads at the top of the hill.
Step 2 : Continue straight on (on the left, you can go back and forth to see the Château du Domaine du Bois – 15 mins.) as far as the crow’s-foot, leaving two paths on the right and a crossroads.
Step 3 : Turn left for 20 m, then fork left into the woods and continue straight on to the road. Turn left for 30 m, then follow a small track on the right which leads down to the D4 (iron cross).
Step 4 : Go straight on, cross another crossroads (iron cross) and, when you come to a wall (on the left, you can go to Vinzelles church and back – 15 mins), turn right to a T-junction. Turn left (on the right, there’s a shortcut to point 4 along the Allier). At the first track, fork right and keep right until you reach a crossroads near the Allier.
Step 5 : Turn left, cross the road and then the hamlet of Les Blanchards. Pass the wash-house. Turn right at the top of the hill, another wash-house, and once on the departmental road, go left up to the D233, which you cross. Enter Laveine and turn right towards the post office and town hall, pass the church and turn left twice to get back to the starting point.
