Trail highlights

– Heritage : Romanesque church, cross.
– Views of the Combrailles, the Puy-Saint-Gulmier hillock and the church’s terraced bell tower.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : From the start sign (Romanesque church), turn right down a small road which becomes a path between two hedges (view of the Combrailles). At a fork, stay on the right-hand path. Pass the bottom of the valley and, at the crossroads, take the path on the right and climb up to a road.

Step 2 : Follow this road to the right for 200 m. At the second fork in the road (cross), turn left and continue straight ahead. Ignore a track on the left and follow the edge of the wood. At the crossroads, cross the road and follow the signs for Les Rouchons. Follow this road through the forest to a pond.

Step 3 : Leave the road, go right into the forest and follow the main path. At the end of the wood, turn left onto a small road (with a view of the Puy-Saint-Gulmier hillock and the terrace church tower). At the crossroads, turn right, pass by a cross (1670) and reach the parking lot.
