Route description
A walk from Fayet-Ronaye (Romanesque church rebuilt in the 14th century) on steep, wooded slopes with views over the surrounding hills and forests. At Ronaye is a beautiful granite cross dating from the late 14th century.

Step 1 : Follow the road downhill, then turn left behind the church towards La Marconnerie ; cross a small stream and turn right onto a grassy path. At a clearing, turn left ; 300m further on, turn left again and follow the track to another basalt path, taking it downhill to the right and passing under the large farmhouse.
Step 2 : Take the first track on the left, passing a house ; at the crow’s feet, turn right to the Doulon stream. Cross it and follow a stone path up to “la Baffie”. Take the tarmac road to the right as far as the D56. Cross the road and take a small path leading uphill through the hardwoods. At the exit, turn right for 800 m.
Step 3 : Turn right onto a track leading down to the Ronaye stream. Go back up to Ronaye, round the chapel, turn right to take a track on the left at the end of the hamlet, leading to the D56. Follow it to the left. Turn right just after the bridge. Then turn left, then almost immediately right on a steep, narrow path that runs alongside the cemetery to get back to the starting point.

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From the village of Saint Germain l’Herm, take the D56 towards Fayet Ronaye. The start is opposite the Fayet Ronaye town hall.
