Route description

If the summer’s too hot, follow Tino : he knows a refreshing walk. You can walk down under the trees to the Chalamont stream, then along it to a graceful waterfall. And long live the freshness ! After that, all you have to do is climb back up…

Trail highlights

– The St-Priest-des-Champs waterfall and the Auzelle stream.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : From the start sign, head in the direction of “Les Granges, Puy Loudinet” (waterfall sign) until you reach a fork.

Step 2 : Turn left. Go past the picnic area and down the path that winds through a coniferous forest to the fourth bend.

Step 3 : Go straight ahead on the steep path that joins the Auzelle stream. Follow the stream upstream, crossing it three times on the footbridges to the waterfall.

Step 4 : Retrace your steps, crossing the three footbridges again. Fifty metres after the third footbridge, turn left at the fork, so as to stay level with the stream, until you reach another footbridge, which you do not use [caution : another yellow PR]. Climb to the right to reach waypoint 2 and return to the starting point along the same path as before.

Additional information

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access

To St-Priest-des-Champs, 51 km north-west of Clermont-Ferrand. Parking on the church square. With your back to the church, head for the stop sign and find the start sign opposite, on the other side of the D987.
