Step 1 : From the start sign, follow the signs for “Les Granges, Puy Loudinet”. At the crossroads, take the left-hand path towards “Cascade de St Priest”. On the winding descent, leave the track and take the left-hand path down to the stream. Ford the stream twice, then take the path alongside it on the left, rising 100 m further into the woods to descend to the wooden bridge over the Auzelle (view of the waterfall).

Step 2 : Take the path to the right of the bridge and continue uphill to the road. Turn right, pass the Chauteix mill and continue to a right-angle bend. Take a left downhill towards Moulin Balot. At the stream, turn left. After the mill, cross the stone bridge and climb back up to the road.

Step 3 : Take the road opposite to the first houses in Courtine. Turn left onto a track. Go straight on until you reach a tarmac track, which you can climb on the right. At the farmhouse, continue left for 50 m and take a wide track on the right. At the fork, take the left-hand track. At the T-junction, go left, then straight on to the road.

Step 4 : Turn left, cross the Fourche bridge and, 300 m further on, take the track on the right which climbs up through the pines. Go straight through the woods. At the crossroads under the power line, fork left onto the track which descends and then rises again at a T-junction. Continue right to the road at the entrance to Vernadel village.
