Route description
The start of the itinerary is marked by summer pastures. Then, we follow a pilgrimage path punctuated by an altar and calvaries. We enjoy very beautiful views of the valley carved by the streams of Roches-Charles and Sault which meet.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : Go down the small road and take the first path on the left. Cross a fence (stepladder), cross a wetland and climb up to the edge of the plateau.
Step 2 : On the plateau (viewpoint), head due west into the meadows. Cross two more fences (viewpoint) and reach an information panel giving details of the Roches-Charles site. Descend the path, then take a wide track to the left towards the chapel, until you come to a stone altar in a clearing.
Step 3 : Take the right-hand path (chemin de croix) up to the cemetery and Roche-Charles chapel. Turn around and return to point 2 along the same path. Take the right-hand path up to the plateau (crossing several fences) and continue along a faint path on the hillside to the edge of the plateau.
Step 4 : On the plateau, walk along the fence (view of the Chaîne des Puys, the Sancy massif and the Cézallier mountains). Join a country lane, turn right and follow it to the road that leads back to Boslabert on the left, alongside a wind farm.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.
Dogs allowed Dogs must be kept on a leash due to the presence of herds.

Access
At Issoire, take the D32 towards Solignat. 7 km after Dauzat-sur-Vodable, turn right onto the D32A to Boslabert. Parking on Place de l’Église.
