Route description

A family walk in the forest from Auzelles, accessible by baby carriage, with interpretation panels to help the young (and not so young) recognize the tree species and plants on this circuit.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : At the entrance to the forest track, take the wide dirt road into the woods. Cross the stream that runs under the track and continue to the wood depot.

Step 2 : Continue along the road to the left.

Step 3 : After the description of the water irons, turn left at the crossroads onto a narrow path in the undergrowth. Pass alongside a wetland and find the tarmac road. Follow it to the left to get back to the start.

Additional information

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access

From the village of Cunlhat, take the D 225 towards Issoire. At the village of Alleyras, take the D 996 towards Auzelles. In the village of Auzelles, take the D 263 towards Condat-les-Montboissier. After 1 km, take the road on the left towards the village of Cavet.
