Departing from Virlet, this walk will take you to Perdechat castle, Gelines lake and Bellaigues abbey.
Étape 1 : Follow the road to the right and fork left onto the path after the bridge. At the road, go right for
200m then climb a track on the left. At the top of the hill, at the entrance to the hamlet of Mémy, turn right at
and, after the second house, continue straight ahead for 150m across the meadow to reach a
path descending to the right. At the crossroads, turn left and continue as far as the crossroads at the entrance to the hamlet of Plamont-le-Vieux (
).
Étape 2 : Take the right-hand path alongside a building. At the crossroads, continue to the right and then, at
, turn right. Follow the stream and cross the bridge to the right. At the road, turn right and
turn left to cross Braconnoux. At the exit, take the footpath on the right as far as a road. At
turn right for 100m and take the first track on the left. At the road, turn right until you reach the first path on the left
after the first house in the hamlet of Manèches.
Étape 3 : Take this road and continue straight ahead, crossing 2 roads at Puy
Charles. At the crossroads, turn right onto the road as far as Château de Perdechat. Turn left down the small
tarmac road and take the first track on the right after a stream. Climb up to the road.
Étape 4 : Follow the road to the right for 20 m, then turn left and right. Drive alongside the Gelines pond and continue along
until you reach the D503. Turn right, follow the Bellaigues abbey and at the crossroads turn right onto the D527 along
. At the end of the road, turn left onto the dyke and take the path on the left. Turn right at
into rue de Bellaigues, then left into rue Font Chapelle and back to the starting point.
All year round daily.
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on the weather conditions, some routes are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked paths. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your rubbish.
