Route description
A short and easy itinerary, despite a few steep inclines, that leads along the 2 sides of the Bave valley and in the footsteps of the old buronniers. You’ll discover the ruins of some very old burons, the “tracs”, in a beautiful summer pasture area.

Step 1 : Go left behind the church to reach the main road (D23). Follow it down to the left, past a watering hole and straight on to a crossroads. Follow the D23 in the direction of Allanche until you see the Lemazet sign.
Step 2 : Leave the road and take the path on the right. Continue along this main path (PV1 : view of Forez and Ally wind turbines). Continue along the left-hand side of the Bois de la Barre. Turn left at the crossroads. After the stream, continue (PV2 : view of the buron and the Anzat “tras” – remains of ancient rural dwellings) to a T intersection.
Step 3 : Turn left down the track and continue on the main path to a road (picnic area before the road). Go straight ahead (PV3 : view of the Luguet signal) and, after 100 m, turn left downhill. Cross the stream over the stone bridge and head up towards Maset. At the bend in the road, at the entrance to the hamlet, take the path to the right and go as far as the road. Cross the road and climb the path opposite to reach the D23. Turn right onto the road to reach the starting point.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

How to get there : From the A75, exit 17 Saint-Germain-Lembron, continue towards Ardes-sur-Couze on the D214, then follow the D23 to Anzat-le-Luguet. Departure sign on parking lot in front of the church.
