Route description

A forest walk through the typical landscapes of the Ance Valley. The trail takes you into the heart and secrets of a forest, where you’ll discover a multitude of tree species (beech, chestnut, birch, ash, maple, etc.).

Step 1 : Depuis la place de Saint-Romain, emprunter la D 67 qui sort du village. À la première intersection, prendre la petite route qui descend à gauche. Après le lavoir, emprunter à droite une petite route. Emprunter le chemin herbeux qui monte sur votre gauche. Poursuivre sur ce chemin qui conduit en forêt. Passer derrière une maison isolée avant d’atteindre le hameau de Tignier.

Step 2 : Après la première bâtisse, emprunter à gauche un large chemin de terre, il conduit au hameau de l’Autoriche ; descendre par un petit sentier jusqu’au ruisseau de la Molle. Poursuivre sur ce chemin ; puis, à la première intersection, monter à droite pour atteindre une belle hêtraie.

Step 3 : À l’intersection de plusieurs chemins, bifurquer à gauche. Continuer toujours tout droit pour atteindre le hameau en ruine des Gouttes. Dans le village, descendre à gauche à travers bois. Continuer tout droit dans la descente jusqu’à une large route forestière. Suivre cette route à gauche qui conduit jusqu’à Saint-Romain.

Additional information

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access

Access to start : From the village of Saint-Anthème, take the D261 towards Viverols. After 5km, turn off onto the D67 to enter the village of Saint-Romain.
