Route description

A forest walk through the typical landscapes of the Ance Valley. The trail takes you into the heart and secrets of a forest, where you’ll discover a multitude of tree species (beech, chestnut, birch, ash, maple, etc.).

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : From Saint-Romain square, take the D67 out of the village. At the first junction, take the small road down to the left. After the wash-house, turn right onto a small road. Take the grassy path that rises on your left. Follow this path into the forest. Pass behind a detached house before reaching the hamlet of Tignier.

Step 2 : After the first building, take a wide dirt track to the left, leading to the hamlet of Autoriche ; go down a narrow path to the ruisseau de la Molle. Continue along this path ; then, at the first crossroads, turn right to reach a beautiful beech grove.

Step 3 : At the intersection of several paths, fork left. Continue straight ahead to reach the ruined hamlet of Les Gouttes. In the village, turn left through the woods. Continue straight downhill to a wide forest road. Follow this road to the left, which leads to Saint-Romain.
