Step 1 : From the church square in Olmet (view of the Monts du Livradois and Chaine des Puys), take the uphill road opposite the church. Turn left at the first asphalt road between 2 houses. The road becomes a footpath. Keep to the carriageway as far as the village of “La Lichère”. Continue up the right-hand track. Keep to the main track until you reach the tarmac road (view of the Monts du Livradois, Chaine des Puys and Massif du Sancy).

Step 2 : Turn right towards Montpellat. Before the bend, turn left off the road onto the forest track. After 750 m, fork left at the fork. At the crossroads of 4 paths, take the one on the right. After 400 m, take the left-hand track and continue on the main road to the next crossroads. Turn right, then immediately left, downhill towards Château de la Faye. Return along the same path.

Step 3 : At the crossroads, take the track on the right, then immediately on the left. Keep to the main path until you reach the forest track. Follow it to the right for 50 m before turning left onto a rising track. At the next crow’s-foot, continue on the left-hand track. At the crossroads of 4 paths, continue uphill and keep to the main path until you reach a tarmac road. Turn left for 50 m, then right onto a carriageway. After 600 m, turn right. At a wood storage area, go slightly left. Keep to the main road until you reach the village of “Fétus”.

Step 4 : Before the village, turn right at the first hairpin bend into the woods. At the next crow’s-foot, keep left. At the next crossroads of 4 paths, take the one going down opposite. Stay on the main road until you reach a T-junction. Then turn right and continue downhill to the village of Olmet, back to the starting point of the hike.
