Route description
On the banks of the Allier, this walk takes you through the undergrowth and offers pretty unobstructed views of the Issoire basin, you can see the village of Saint-Yvoine and the plain of Lembron.
Starting point – From the starting sign, turn right onto the road until you reach the railway. Go down the road on the right, go under the bridge and continue on the left between Allier and the railway. At the road, go under a bridge and go to a crossroads.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : From the start sign, turn right onto the road as far as the railroad line. Turn right down the track, pass under the bridge and continue left between the Allier and the railroad. At the road, go under a bridge to a crossroads.
Step 2 : Turn left up the road, cross Perthus Haut and continue to the first house in La Ribeyre.
Step 3 : Go straight up to the left on a wide track leading to a road. Follow it uphill for 100 m, then leave it to continue uphill on a small tarmac road in the village of Naves, as far as a crossroads.
Step 4 : Climb to the left, ignoring the paths to the right. Reach a flat area (view of Livradois, Petite Limagne and Issoire, Cézallier and the Sancy massif) and continue on a balcony path, ignoring the paths on the right, until you reach a crossroads with four paths.
Next step
Step 5 : Turn left down a wide track (with views of the Sancy massif and the Chaîne des Puys) to reach Domaine de Vort.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From Issoire on the A75, take the Orbeil exit on the D9, then the D14 to “Pont d’Orbeil”. Follow the small road to Domaine de Vort. Departure sign at parking lot.
