Route description
On the banks of the Allier, this walk takes you through the undergrowth and offers pretty unobstructed views of the Issoire basin, you can see the village of Saint-Yvoine and the plain of Lembron.
Starting point – From the starting sign, turn right onto the road until you reach the railway. Go down the road on the right, go under the bridge and continue on the left between Allier and the railway. At the road, go under a bridge and go to a crossroads.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : Du panneau de départ, prendre à droite la route jusqu’à la voie ferrée. Descendre le chemin à droite, passer sous le pont et continuer à gauche entre Allier et voie ferrée. À la route, passer sous un pont et aller jusqu’à un croisement.
Step 2 : Monter la route à gauche, traverser Perthus Haut et poursuivre jusqu’à la première maison de La Ribeyre.
Step 3 : Monter à gauche, toujours tout droit, un large chemin menant à une route. La suivre en montant sur 100 m, puis la quitter pour continuer la montée sur une petite rue goudronnée dans le village de Naves, jusqu’à un croisement cruciforme.
Step 4 : Monter à gauche et toujours ignorer les chemins à droite. Atteindre un replat (vue sur le Livradois, la petite Limagne et Issoire, le Cézallier et le massif du Sancy) et poursuivre sur un chemin en balcon en ignorant les chemins à droite jusqu’à un croisement de quatre chemins.
Next step
Step 5 : Descendre à gauche par un large chemin (vue sur le massif du Sancy et sur la chaîne des Puys) et rejoindre le Domaine de Vort.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From Issoire on the A75, take the Orbeil exit on the D9, then the D14 to “Pont d’Orbeil”. Follow the small road to Domaine de Vort. Departure sign at parking lot.
