Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : From the Auberge de La Forie, climb the narrow road alongside the war memorial. At the crossroads, turn right onto the small road, then take the first path rising to the left. At the crow’s-foot, turn right. At the D67, turn right for 10 m, then left on the minor road towards La Brousse. Take the path on the right between the fences. Turn right onto the road. At the “patte d’oie” (crow’s feet), leave this road and take a path to the right.

Step 2 : At La Brousse, at a crossroads with 4 paths, turn right (view of the Ambert plain on the right). Keep to this path as far as Louville. Pass the first house, then follow the path rising to the left as far as La Chevaleyre. At the road, turn right through the hamlet. In the hamlet, leave the main road and turn slightly right. At the last house, take the left-hand path alongside it (with a view of Valcivières opposite). Continue until you reach the D67. Turn left to enter the village.

Step 3 : Pass the church, then the Valcivières inn. 20m after the phone booth, turn right and pass between the houses. The road turns left ; take the first path on the right. At the crossroads of 4 paths, turn right and follow the path which turns left at 180°. At the crossroads, turn right to cross the bridge over the Batifol. Follow the path as it rises. At the crow’s-foot, go right downhill. Ignore the right-hand path and continue downhill on the left. Keep to this hillside path.

Step 4 : At the fork, turn left. At the end of the wood, continue on the tarmac through Montgolfier. At the last house, in the left-hand bend, follow the stony track to the right. Continue along the ruin and keep to this path. At the fork in the road, leave the main track and follow the path to the right. Further on, at the crow’s-foot, follow the path up to the right, then down to La Forie. Walk along the wall and continue across the bridge. Turn left along the Batifol, then right at the crossroads to reach the church. Follow the main road to the right to reach the parking lot.
