Step 1 : Opposite Saint-Pierre-la-Bourlhonne town hall. Reach the church and turn left onto the D66. At the end of the village, turn left up a small road. After the hamlets of Missonnier and Grangette (with views over the Fossat valley), you come to Goth-de-la-Montagne. Turn left after this hamlet, then left again 50 m further on. Climb a paved path.

Step 2 : Cross the road onto a grassy path. Cross the road again and follow the track opposite. At the Roches-Brunes stream, take the track to the left for 20 m, then climb again to the left on a stony track. At the crow’s-foot, continue left. Turn right onto the cross-country ski trail and continue to a clearing. Turn left before a ruin, signposted “Chalet de la Roche”. After 250 m, take the second track on the left, passing a wetland. Climb up to heather moorland (view of Peyre-Mayou rocks).

Step 3 : At Col de la Chamboite, climb a stony track marked with red posts. After 500 m, turn left. At Peyre-Mayou (you can go to Peyre Mayou and back on the left), take a downhill path to the right along the fence. Walk alongside the airstrip and continue along the path. At the wider path, turn left to reach the col du béal.

Step 4 : At the Col du Béal, take the well-marked path immediately to the left behind the restaurant. Turn left at the orientation table and continue straight ahead through the heather, as well as at the crossroads. At the jasseries du Béal, continue straight ahead. Turn left onto a wide track, then right after 100 m.
