Route description

This short walk for all the family follows the banks of the lake. The Confolant beach is ideal for a relaxing break or snack.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : Du panneau de départ sur le parking, suivre le chemin empierré qui longe la retenue en direction de la plage du Pont-du-Bouchet. Après 300 m, à la fourche, obliquer à droite (vue sur la retenue et le confluent Sioulet-Sioule). Au bâtiment (sanitaires), monter le chemin à droite jusqu’à une petite route.

Step 2 : Descendre à gauche sur la route. À 50 m, prendre le chemin à droite. Arrivé au point le plus haut (vue sur Confolant et la Chazotte), descendre pour atteindre une route que l’on suit jusqu’à l’entrée du camping de La Plage de Confolant. Entrer dans le camping en passant devant l’accueil. Aller jusqu’au plan d’eau que l’on peut longer jusqu’à la base nautique.

Step 3 : Revenir sur ses pas par le chemin pris à l’aller pour retrouver le parking du Pont-du-Bouchet.

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.
