Route description
Part of the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire of Issoire Val-d’Allier, the path offers a view of the Lembron and its cereal fields and the Pays des Couzes from the summit of the puy d’Ysson (856 m). The volcano is frequented by paragliding enthusiasts.
Starting point – From the car park located 50m above the starting sign, go up the street and walk along the cemetery. 50m after a cross, turn left to the picnic area.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : À partir du parking situé 50 m au-dessus du panneau de départ monter la rue et longer le cimetière. 50 m après une croix obliquer à gauche jusqu’à l’aire de pique-nique.
Step 2 : Emprunter le chemin à gauche puis la première sente à droite qui monte dans la chênaie au milieu de vestiges d’anciennes constructions. Arrivé la route monter à droite jusqu’au virage.
Step 3 : Monter au sommet du Puy d’Ysson par le petit chemin (panorama à 360°- table d’orientation) et redescendre par la route. Au carrefour prendre le chemin à gauche qui descend et continuer jusqu’à un carrefour en T.
Step 4 : Remonter à droite (à 300 m murs cyclopéens avec cabane de berger en pierre). Ensuite le chemin descend en empruntant un pierrier qui débouche sur un chemin agricole.

Step 5 : Prendre à droite, puis laisser celui-ci et continuer tout droit . Traverser la route de Florat et continuer en face sur le chemin herbeux. Sur le trajet laisser le chemin de droite. Au croisement sous la ligne électrique monter à droite. Au sommet descendre tout droit sur Solignat.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From Issoire, take the D32 towards Vodable-Solignat. In Solignat, at the cross over the road, follow signs for Puy d’Ysson.
