Guidebook with maps/step-by-step :

Étape 1 : From the start sign in the square (former abbey church), pass the town hall and continue along the main street. On the right, cross the stream on a footbridge and continue along the track that joins the D225. Turn left for 100 m and take the first track on the right. Cross a stream on a footbridge, join a small road and continue straight ahead. At the first intersection, turn right to reach the hamlet of Tarragnat.

Étape 2 : At the fountain, turn left; after the houses, ignore the left-hand path and continue straight on to the village of Champsiaux. Cross the village (view of the Livradois). Turn left at the last house. Continue along a wide, winding path downhill. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead (view of the Pic d’Usson and the Comté). After a bend to the left, continue towards the forest. Ignore a track on the right and enter the woods, following a dirt track to a crossroads at the forest exit.

Étape 3 : Turn left down the track. At the first junction, turn left until you reach a T-junction. Turn right (view of Nonette, Usson, Lembron, Sancy massif). Take the first grassy path on the left, which climbs up to the woods of Puy de Céveloux. At the T-junction, turn right and follow the edge of the wood to reach a wide track.

Étape 4 : Turn left. At the next crossroads, turn left, leaving two paths to the right and left, to reach the hamlet of Le Chat. Turn right after a stable, cross the hamlet, continue along the track opposite and take the second path on the right, heading for the forest. Continue as far as Tarragnat. You’ll find yourself back at point 1; return to the starting point by following the first section in the opposite direction (view of the puy and Château d’Auger).
