Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : From the start sign at Place Dourif, take the street behind the war memorial, continue along the lane under the château and down the stairs to the left. Cross the bridge over the Monne and take the right-hand path for about 400 m to a crossroads.

Step 2 : Turn left (view of Saint-Amant-Tallende and La Serre mountain). Turn right at the fork. At the next crossroads, take the right-hand track and continue along the path. At the fork, keep right and descend to Saint-Sandoux (view of the puy de Saint Sandoux) as far as the roundabout at the entrance to the village.

Step 3 : Turn right onto chemin du Grand Pré. At the large crossroads, take the dirt track to the right. At the fork in the road, turn right (view of the Benedictine abbey of Randol and the Monne valley). At the intersection with the Puy de Peyronère access road, turn left downhill to the next crossroads.

Step 4 : Go right up the steep track for 200 m, then turn left onto the grassy path (view of Randol abbey and Saint-Saturnin castle). Descend to Saint-Saturnin and at the crossroads take the wide track to the right for 200 m, then descend the track to the left which joins the Monne river ; cross it on the old stone bridge. At the crossroads, turn right along the rocks and castle to the fountain at Place de l’Ormeau.

Next step

Step 5 : Turn right, skirting the church (Romanesque) ; at the Sainte Madeleine chapel, fork right and continue along rue Noble. At the traffic circle, take the allée des Marronniers. After the Saint-Amant-Tallende lookout, turn right into rue des Bouteix, then rue des Réveillons and rue du Bas Mur to return to the starting point.
