Route description

The sunny hillsides of Saint-Sandoux are the kingdom of the Auvergne apple (33 varieties) and of nature: vineyards, wheat fields, dry grasslands, a rich variety of flora and fauna. From the puy Saint-Sandoux (paragliding site), a surprising mosaic of views.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step :

Étape 1 : Go up 60 m towards the town hall, then take rue des Barquets. At the entrance to Place du Théron (cross), turn right. After 150 m, turn left onto chemin de la Font Coide. Continue straight ahead until you reach the road (views of Puy de Dôme and Randol Abbey).

Étape 2 : Turn left. After 250 m, take the left-hand path. At the cemetery, keep left (at the top of the hill, view of the Sancy). At the crossroads, go down to the right and take the first track on the left as far as a crossroads.

Étape 3 : Go up to the left. At the crossroads, go right and turn left. At the next crossroads, turn right until you reach an intersection with a road.

Étape 4 : Follow the road to the left until you reach the hamlet of Pressat; take the grassy path to the left. Shortly before the top of the hill, take a path to the right. At the crossroads, continue along this path to the Latin cross overlooking Saint-Sandoux (panorama, orientation table).

Étape 5 : Descend the road for 650 m and take the path to the right at a flat spot. At the crossroads at the end of the wood, continue straight ahead, take rue de la Moutardière, Place de la Mairie and rejoin the starting point.
