Le puy du Courdeloup

Step 1 : Park in the parking lot near the church. Opposite the inn, turn right down the street, which becomes a gravel path (view of the puy de Courdeloup opposite). At the end of the track, follow the D9 opposite, leaving the first track, then take the second track on the left (view of the Sancy massif and the puy de Dôme). Continue along the same path (view of St-Jean-des-Ollières and Forez mountains opposite, Seymier castle on left).

Step 2 : At the crossroads of the 4 paths, fork right towards the puy de Courdeloup and continue on the main path. At the next crossroads (with a view of the basaltic chaos of the puy de Courdeloup on the right), continue to the right, keeping to the main path.

Step 3 : At the D9 (view of the Sancy massif), turn left (view of the rocky scree of Pic de la Garde and the Virgin Mary on the left). Leave the road on the left towards Bourgis and, at the house, take the grassy path on the right to reach Le Gacard. Enter the hamlet, follow the bread oven to the right and continue straight ahead. At the end of the village (view of the Puy de Dôme), before the farm buildings, turn right down the track, cross the stream and go up to the hamlet of Bouchiche.

Step 4 : At the village, take the road on the left, go around the hairpin bend on the right (view of the puy de Courdeloup on the right and Isserteaux) and take the track on the left. At the crossroads, turn right down the track. Take the road to the right and enter Champorent. Cross the hamlet and take the grassy path opposite. At the top of the hill, take a wider path to the right (view of the Puy de Dôme). Pass through the ruined village of Montagnet, continuing on the road (view of the Sancy massif to the left).
