The Guéry trail (shortcut)

Start – From the gate next to the “Orcival, Guéry” cross-country ski center, take the first path on the left down to Lac de Guéry.

Start – From the gate next to the “Orcival, Guéry” cross-country ski center, take the first path on the left down to Lac de Guéry.

1 – Turn right and walk along the pontoon at the end of the lake (view of the lake and Sancy). Continue along the lake as far as a crossroads.

2 – Climb to the right, then turn left at the next junction and climb the winding path through undergrowth to the waterfall viewpoint. Continue uphill until you come to a metal fence, which leads to moorland. Continue along the stream and fir woods to the stepladder leading to a track.

3 – Follow this track to the right through the fir woods. Cross a large track and go straight on to the edge of the wood, turn right onto a track for 50 m, then take a left-hand path overhanging the track. Follow the fence to a crow’s-foot (viewpoint over the Sancy massif and lake). Go downhill to the right and at the crossroads of three paths, go straight ahead. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead to reach the start.
