Route description

A pleasant walk along a path that climbs under oak and chestnut trees. The landscape then opens up to give way to a view of Enval, Riom and the Limagne.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : Opposite the parking lot, turn left and follow the path along the road for 100 m, then right up to a crossroads in the woods (difficult for baby carriages and children’s bikes).

Step 2 : Turn right onto a path, cross a wooden footbridge and climb up to the orientation table (view of the Enval gorges, Enval, Riom, and in the distance the Madeleine and Forez mountains).

Step 3 : Continue along the path to the Ambène stream waterfall.

Step 4 : Return to the starting point.

Additional information

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access

From Riom, head for Mozac, then Enval on the D455 then the D138. When you leave Enval, head for Châtel-Guyon on the D15 to the parking lot.
