Route description

A pleasant walk along a path that climbs under oak and chestnut trees. The landscape then opens up to give way to a view of Enval, Riom and the Limagne.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : Face au parking, se diriger à gauche, suivre le sentier qui longe la route sur 100 m, et monter à droite jusqu’à un croisement dans le bois (parcours difficilement accessible aux poussettes et vélos pour les enfants).

Step 2 : Prendre à droite une sente, traverser une passerelle en bois et monter jusqu’à la table d’orientation (vue sur les gorges d’Enval, Enval, Riom, et au loin les monts de la Madeleine et les monts du Forez).

Step 3 : Continuer le sentier jusqu’au site de la cascade du ruisseau de l’Ambène.

Step 4 : Reprendre le chemin en sens inverse pour rejoindre le point de départ.

Additional information

For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access

From Riom, head for Mozac, then Enval on the D455 then the D138. When you leave Enval, head for Châtel-Guyon on the D15 to the parking lot.
