The sight of these two rocky peaks – the Roches Tuilière and Sanadoire – emerging from the Guéry beech forest like two sentinels watching over the glacial valley of Fontsalade is unforgettable. Magnificent panoramic views over the glacial valley.
– View of the Sanadoire rock organs.
– View of Puy de l’Ouire and the Tuilière and Sanadoire rocks.
Step 1 : At the bottom of the parking lot, take the stairs (at the foot of the slope : view of the organs of the Sanadoire rock) ; at the bottom, turn left at the crossroads and go straight down to the road. Cross the road and follow a narrow path to the right (20 m before a small stream).
Step 2 : Follow this path, overhanging the stream, to the road. Follow the road to the right for 20 m, then down the path to the left ; continue through the woods on the main path. At the intersection, turn left, cross the footbridge and climb back up ; at the next T-junction, turn left to the road. Cross the road and climb the path opposite. After 20 m, at the fork, take the steep right-hand slope. On the second level, at the crossroads, go straight down to a wide track. Follow it to the right as far as the monastery (bread oven).
Step 3 : Climb the path on the right before the fountain, overlooking the monastery. Go straight ahead, cross two successive stepladders and descend into the woods, leaving a path on the left. At the next stepladder, turn right around the meadow to reach a path. Cross the stepladder and continue straight ahead, cresting the forest until you come to a junction with a wide gravel path. Follow this for 200 m to a right-hand bend.
Step 4 : Take the path on the left at the bend and go down to the road, follow it to the right for 20 m, then go down to the left on the tarmac path (view of the puy de l’Ouire and the Tuilière and Sanadoire rocks). Cross the hamlet of Le Cros on the left, then descend towards the stream, crossing the footbridge. Climb a gravel path, turn right along a low stone wall and continue to a T-junction.
Step 5 : Go left for 50 m, then right on a path that climbs steeply. At the flat T-junction, go left for 250 m, then leave this path to take the footbridge on the right. Follow this path through the woods, arriving at a crossroads, continue straight ahead ; after 100 m, at the next crossroads, climb the stairs on the left to get back to the starting point.
