Route description
A family walk that takes you from the priory of Chaumont-le-Bourg, with its moats still filled with water, to the pretty village of Masselèbre (adobe buildings) and its curious bridge under which the Dore no longer flows, having long since changed its bed.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : From the church, head for the chapel, then take the road opposite it in the direction of Masselèbre. Follow this small road for about 300 m.
Step 2 : At the wooden cross, turn left and follow the dirt track. 150 m further on, at the crow’s-foot, turn right to follow the Saut stream. Keep to this path until you reach a crossroads. Turn right and follow the main path to the hamlet of Masselèbre and the medieval bridge (reading table).
Step 3 : Retrace your steps to pass the farm building and turn immediately left, leaving the main path. At the crossroads, turn left. At the road with a cross, continue straight ahead on the dirt track (view of the Forez mountains). At the crossroads, follow the road to the right.
Step 4 : 250 m further on, turn right again and follow the road. Drive past the livestock building to the D38. Follow the small road on your right, ignoring the D38. Go past the sawmill and 250 m further on, at the wooden cross (point 1), turn left to return to the starting point by the same route as before.

Additional information
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
From the village of Arlanc, take the D38 towards Beurrières. In the village, continue on the main road towards Chaumont-le-Bourg.
