Route description
The old parish of Mailhat is a historic monument (1859) and its church built on a Gallo-Roman temple by the monks of Sauxillanges at the end of the 12th century in an elegant and ornate style that contrasts with the severity of the Romanesque style of the Auvergne region.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Step 1 : Du panneau de départ, rejoindre la D123, la prendre à droite puis monter à gauche le chemin de la Fontaine. À la fourche, tourner à droite et continuer à monter en laissant un chemin à gauche (vue sur Nonette, le massif du Sancy, le Cézallier, le Livradois). Au sommet de la côte, emprunter le chemin de gauche sur 100 m puis tourner à droite et continuer en direction de l’église de Mailhat. Traverser le village jusqu’à l’église édifice roman du XIIe siècle, poursuivre jusqu’à la sortie du village.
Step 2 : À l’intersection avec la D123A, obliquer à droite sur celle-ci sur 350 m puis s’engager sur un chemin à gauche jusqu’à la route. L’emprunter à droite jusqu’à Lamontgie . Entrer dans le village et aller jusqu’à la place.
Step 3 : Prendre la direction d’Auzat, passer devant l’église et 50 m après la mairie, tourner dans la première rue à droite qui se transforme en chemin. Au croisement après la ligne à haute tension, tourner à gauche. À la croix des Plantiers, reprendre à droite et continuer tout droit jusqu’à un croisement croix.
Step 4 : Descendre à gauche et à la première intersection virer à droite. Continuer jusqu’à un croisement de 5 chemins, emprunter celui de droite en direction d’Orsonnette. À l’intersection suivante, aller à gauche puis tout de suite à droite. Après le cimetière, continuer à droite pour rejoindre le point de départ.

Animals are not allowed on some routes.

Access
South of Clermont-Ferrand, A75 freeway, exit 15 towards Le Breuil-sur-Couze. Go through the village and turn left on the D123 towards Nonette-Orsonnette. In Orsonnette, park in front of the church.
