Route description

A charming family walk in the undergrowth, accessible to all, allowing you to discover 2 of Le Mont-Dore’s must-see waterfalls.

The Rossignolet waterfall discharges water from the Ruisseau de l’Enfer, which then joins the Dordogne. At the foot of the cascade, you can hear the gentle murmur of the stream, reminiscent of a nightingale’s song, hence the name of the cascade.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : From the parking lot, take the tarmac road to the right of the cemetery for 600 m to the Les Esperats crossroads, then turn left in the direction of the Rossignolet waterfall.

Step 2 : At the foot of the waterfall, take the stairs on the left and follow the signs for the Queureuilh waterfall, 400 m away.

Step 3 : Follow the path back to the Les Esperats crossroads for 400 m, then continue towards the parking lot for 600 m.

Additional information

Standard requirements : hiking boots, as the terrain can be slippery.
For small children, use a baby carrier. All-terrain baby carriages can be used, but avoid stairs, except in case of snow or icy conditions.

In winter, remember to cover up well, as the trail is in undergrowth and wetlands.
On snow or icy conditions : small crampons or snowshoes.
In case of icy conditions, if you don’t have the right equipment, don’t go on the Rossignolet waterfall trail.
