Route description

A charming family walk in the undergrowth, accessible to all, allowing you to discover 2 of Le Mont-Dore’s must-see waterfalls.

The Rossignolet waterfall discharges water from the Ruisseau de l’Enfer, which then joins the Dordogne. At the foot of the cascade, you can hear the gentle murmur of the stream, reminiscent of a nightingale’s song, hence the name of the cascade.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

Step 1 : Au départ du parking, prendre le chemin goudronné à droite du cimetière sur 600 m jusqu’au croisement les Ésperats, et tourner à gauche en suivant la direction de la cascade du Rossignolet.

Step 2 : Au pied de la cascade, prendre les escaliers à gauche et suivre la direction de la cascade du Queureuilh située à 400 m.

Step 3 : Suivre ensuite le sentier jusqu’à revenir au croisement les Ésperats sur 400 m puis continuer en direction du parking sur 600 m.

Additional information

Standard requirements : hiking boots, as the terrain can be slippery.
For small children, use a baby carrier. All-terrain baby carriages can be used, but avoid stairs, except in case of snow or icy conditions.

In winter, remember to cover up well, as the trail is in undergrowth and wetlands.
On snow or icy conditions : small crampons or snowshoes.
In case of icy conditions, if you don’t have the right equipment, don’t go on the Rossignolet waterfall trail.
