Climbing site of the Rivalet
Verrières
Climbing site authorized by the FFME (French Federation of Mountain and Climbing), very frequented because it’s well-adapted for the introduction thanks to the diversity and the length of the ways. Possibility to climb almost all year because the site has an enjoyable microclimate.Access : in Champeix, take the D996, cross Montaigut-le-Blanc, reach the bridge of Rivalet and turn to the right in direction of St-Nectaire. At 1 km away, the rock is located above the road, before reaching Verrières, and see the car park.
The site comprises 5 sectors, offering some 62 pitches : Voie du Gag, Globule, Sida, la Source and Blédine.
Orientation : south, southwest and west, depending on the sector.
Rock : non-abrasive granite, mostly slab.
70 Routes from 20 to 100m.
Climbing grades from 4a to 7c+.

From Champeix, take the D996 through Montaigut-le-Blanc, reach the Rivalet bridge and turn right towards Saint-Nectaire. After about 1km, the rock is above the road before you reach Verrières, and the parking lot is on the left.
