From Jozerand, this route takes in a 15th-century castle and views over the Morge valley and the Chaîne des Puys.
Jozerand – Castle
Step 1 : Go left, ignoring the adjacent paths (view of the Morge valley and the Chaîne des Puys). At the bottom of the gullied track, keep right. In Chabrépine, continue to the crossroads with the D412.
Step 2 : Turn left onto route des Favarelles. After 250 m, take the first track on the left (view of Jozerand). Go alongside the pond, cross the Coinches stream on the cement footbridge and turn right. At the first T junction, turn right, then right again at the next junction until you reach the road.
Step 3 : Turn right. At the “S” bend, take the left-hand path. At the road, go left. When you see the JOZERAND sign, fork right onto a grassy path. Before the stream, go left, ignoring the track on the right (view of the château). At the crossroads, turn left towards the educational farm. Before the church, turn right onto rue du Sagnat, to reach the start.
All year round daily.
For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on the weather conditions, some routes are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked paths. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your rubbish.
