The Refuge de la Banne is a gite d’étape located 5km from the village of Murat-le-Quaire, accessible by car, at 1334 m altitude.

The Refuge de la Banne is a gite d’étape located 5km from the village of Murat-le-Quaire, accessible by car, at 1334 m altitude.
It’s the ideal starting point or stopping-off point for hikers (GR30 1.5km away), family walkers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and climbers.
You can easily visit the neighboring villages and discover our massif and its surroundings, or simply enjoy the mountain flora and fauna.

You can rest in the dormitory (9 places), in one of the 3 double rooms or in one of the 6 lodge tents. In the refuge, you’ll need meat bags ! But you can find them on site.

More room indoors ? Have you heard of glamping ? The combination of glamour and camping… We’ve set up 5 luxury tents for 2 people each and 1 family tent for 4. These tents are spacious enough to relax in (16m²). Equipped with queen-size beds (160cm), they are true open-air bedrooms.

You’ll be able to eat on site, refresh yourself or simply relax on the terrace as the sun sets.

During our opening periods, you can also pitch your tent on a small bivouac area close to the refuge, and of course take advantage of the refuge’s services.

The refuge is open from mid-June to the end of August.
