30m2 located in the former barn of the house. Exposed stone walls and cosy decor. 2 twin or double beds (90cm) for one person, a couple or 2 friends, beds made up on arrival. You’ll also find in the room : 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe, a sofa with a coffee table, a round table with 4 chairs, a low cabinet with games and books inside, and a microwave and electric kettle on top. Complimentary herbal teas, teas and sugar. No TV or wi-fi in the room, so you’ll be safe from the waves and everyday worries. Separate bathroom with toilet, large shower, washbasin, mirror, hairdryer and towels.
To access the room, you can park in a private space at the back of the owners’ house. Access to the room is independent. You can also enjoy a small private garden with garden furniture and many trees.
Description of the house :
Our house is old and typical of Besse mountain houses, with exposed stonework, a slate roof and outbuildings. It is surrounded by a garden rich in local trees and flowers. Situated just above the beautiful Vaucoux waterfall, you can let yourself be lulled by the sound of the waterfall.
We’ll share a hearty breakfast in our dining room, or outside if the weather is fine. You’ll be able to sample local produce, mainly organically grown.
The house is close to the road, which is always clear in snowy weather. The ski resort of Super Besse is 1/4 hour away with its ski slopes, and the village of Besse is 3kms away with everything you need : bakeries, patisseries, butchers, numerous restaurants, local produce, cinema, pharmacy, numerous events throughout the year, swimming pool and outdoor activities in Super-Besse.
The little “plus” is that Michel, the owner, can accompany you to discover our magnificent region : Bourdouze and Montcineyre lakes 3kms from the house, the Sancy Massif, Lake Pavin 10mn away, Murol, Lake Chambon, the Cézalier, several waterfalls and beautiful hikes that you won’t find in books. He’ll be able to tell you all about the plants and flowers you’ll come across on your hike, as well as the history of the area. What better way to get away from it all !
You can hike or bike from the house.
Michel is a keen amateur photographer, and will be happy to share his tips and techniques with you.
Alongside Sylvie, you can try your hand at patchwork, embroidery, knitting or crochet, which is her trade. She runs “Thé au fil” workshops in Issoire.
We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.
If you wish to be accompanied, the owner will be delighted to show you around our magnificent region. Valid for “spring, summer and autumn” stays.
