Nestled in the heart of the small hamlet of Varennes, the gîte “La Montagne” is the perfect place to spend a vacation with family or friends.
Ideally located just 500 meters from the lake beach, this comfortable accommodation can sleep up to 6 people, perfect for a vacation with family or friends.
A former carpentry workshop belonging to the owner’s grandfather, this gîte has been completely renovated while retaining the charm and authenticity of traditional wooden constructions.
It has a surface area of 135m² and 78m² of fully enclosed terrace from which you can see the lake and enjoy moments of relaxation in the shade of the majestic elm tree, in the cool of the stream that runs beneath the terrace. The barbecue and garden furniture will do the rest !

Enjoy swimming and water sports at Lac Chambon, as well as hiking and cycling in the surrounding area. Explore the charming surrounding villages and discover the pleasures of fishing, canoeing, kayaking and other water sports. Don’t miss out on local sights such as the Château de Murol, the Chaudefour valley and the troglodytic fortress of Jonas. In winter, you’re less than 20 km from the ski resorts of Super-Besse and Le Mont-Dore.

The parking lot can accommodate 2 vehicles, so take the footbridge over the stream and you’re there !
As you enter the gîte, you go straight into the living room, which includes a fully-equipped kitchen ideal for preparing delicious meals. The kitchen and dining room are on the same level, then two steps lead up to the large living room with two comfortable sofas and a TV for relaxing family moments.
You can then access the colorful bedrooms, each with its own distinct style.

The pink bedroom has a 160 cm bed and an en-suite shower room with separate WC, providing an intimate and comfortable space.
The green room offers two 90 cm beds that can be combined to form a 180 cm bed if required. This room also has its own shower room and separate WC.
The staircase from the living room leads to the “alcove bedroom”, equipped with a 160 cm bed on a platform (requiring a certain degree of agility to access ; not recommended for small children or people with limited mobility), a bath and separate WC.
Finally, a mezzanine offers a relaxation area as well as a children’s playroom, perfect for unwinding after a day of activities of all kinds.
A laundry room with washing machine and dryer is also available for your convenience.

Outside, a terrace with garden furniture, a large table and a charcoal barbecue awaits you for al fresco meals and convivial moments, accompanied by the melody of the stream.
