Situation
The cottage is located in a hamlet in the commune of Montmorin in the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park in the Puy-de-Dôme department (altitude : 500 meters).
The hamlet is made up of around ten houses. A common oven that we light about once a year is available to all residents of the hamlet.
3 minutes from Billom and all its amenities (2 supermarkets, swimming pool, banks, post office, pharmacies, doctors, etc.).
The Billom Tourist Office will be able to guide you in discovering this multifaceted territory.
Clermont Ferrand, our Auvergne capital is 30 minutes away, and it will take you 25 minutes to discover Thiers.

Gite
The building dates from the end of the 19th century. It was made up of several stables as well as the barn (the dwelling house of the farmer who owned this barn was opposite).
The lodge was therefore originally a stable. The 55 m² of this space were completely restored in 2014.
The renovation was carried out using natural products :
– Cellulose wadding and wood fiber insulation
– Stone wall jointed with lime, solid oak or Fermacell slab
– homemade paint based on lime and pigments (plus some natural ingredients kept secret)
– Stone floor

The gîte is located on the ground floor of our house (window and door in the photo opposite). It is on one level and is designed to accommodate up to 4 people. The cottage is composed of a bedroom, a fitted kitchen, a living room/lounge, 1 bathroom, 1 shower, 1 WC.

The configuration is as follows :
– a bedroom with 4 beds (2 bunk beds (90 cm) + either 2 single beds (90 cm) or 1 180cm bed)
– a sofa / bed in the living room (140 cm)

For everyone’s comfort, we ask that you do not smoke inside.

Outside, on the garden side, you have access to an enclosed relaxation area.
The well dating from the 1940s, and which had been closed with large stone slabs, was re-opened in 2010. A metal gate guarantees safety, especially for the youngest.

Spa
A 6-seater spa is available at an additional cost (15 to 20 euros per 1.5 hour session (total price for the group), by reservation only)

Access
Two inputs/outputs are possible :
– Street side with several places to park
– Garden side (pedestrian entrance only and access to the garden)

Animals
Our chickens (called “chickens”), our cat “Truffette” and our 2 goats “Bonnie & Clyde” will give you the warmest welcome. But due to their presence in the wild we are not able to accommodate your animals.
