Originally, this 19th-century accommodation consisted of two independent, semi-detached winegrowers’ cottages, inhabited by twin brothers. We decided to renovate them identically (pink facade, white window surrounds with edging, original beams) and to make them communicate to create a harmonious whole.
The two balconies correspond to two entrances. The bedrooms, on either side of the gîte, are thus well separated. On the first floor, a large vaulted ceiling serves as a games room (with ping-pong table, blackboard, etc.), where equipment can be safely stored and bikes and motorcycles sheltered.
Access to the gîte is totally independent of access to the owner’s house. The same applies to the outside areas (courtyard and park). As a result, guests’ independence is in no way compromised, and contact with the owner is easy should the need arise.
Within a 40 km radius of the gîte, you can visit the volcanoes (Vulcania), the lakes (swimming) and the Auvergne mountains (skiing). Nearby, there are many sites to discover : two of France’s most beautiful villages (Montpeyroux and Usson), the Vallée des Saints, the Boudes vineyards, the sensitive natural areas unique to Auvergne in the Forêt de la Comté (guided walks in summer), the Parc Animalier d’Ardes-sur-Couze… There are also a number of must-see monuments : the famous Abbey of Saint-Austremoine in Issoire, the castles of Parentignat and Villeneuve-Lembron…
There’s also a wide range of events : festivals, exhibitions, flea markets, markets, and a wide choice of activities.
