When you come to Le Marcepoil, don’t think you’re lost in the countryside. Saint-Amant and the surrounding villages will surprise you with their cultural and festive agendas, as well as their wealth of local and regional specialties. In terms of outdoor activities, you can enjoy the surrounding area and discover the beauty of the Parc Naturel Régional du Livradois Forez on foot, by bike, on horseback and in many other ways.

Located 20 minutes from the town of Ambert, 40 minutes from Thiers and 1 hour from Clermont-Ferrand (accessible from the axis linking Ambert to Clermont-Ferrand and Thiers), the Marcepoil gîtes welcome you for a stay in the heart of the Livradois Forez Regional Nature Park.
Set in the heart of nature, you’ll enjoy a moment of relaxation in the garden and ponds, as well as on the surrounding footpaths and cycle paths. The converted barn offers a convivial space where you can enjoy a supervised climbing course, unwind around the ping-pong table, or upstairs recharge your batteries with a massage or yoga class (external partners, by reservation).

The two fully-furnished, comfortable gîtes offer accommodation for 4 to 6 people each, or for 10-12 people on a full-rental basis.

The gîte de la terrasse is on one level, while the gîte du panorama is on 2 levels.

Both offer breathtaking views over the countryside and the village of Saint Amant Roche Savine, with the highest point of Forez and the resort of Chalmazel in the background.

During your stay, you’ll be able to enjoy a wide range of activities and visits in the vicinity of the gîtes :
– On-site sports fields and pétanque courts are freely accessible, and equipment is provided for all types of games (badminton, soccer, volleyball, molki, pétanque).
– From the gîte, there are marked footpaths and cycleways through the countryside and hamlets.
– 1 km from the gîte, at the Col de la Toutée, there are hiking and mountain-biking trails, as well as the Martibusse tree-climbing park.
– 5 km towards Cunlhat, the Adada donkey sanctuary and the Henriette restaurant.
– 5 km towards Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine, in the Fournier hamlet, the local Fornabera brewery.
– 10 km away, the Cunlhat lake with swimming, fishing and pedal-boat hire, as well as the main shops and services.
– 15 km away is Ambert, where you’ll find the vélorail for a family outing, and the espace de loisirs for a refreshing dip in the river Dore. Ambert also offers a full range of services and shops, as well as numerous restaurants.
– Around 35 km away are the ski resorts of Chalmazel and Prabouré, where you can enjoy a wide range of sports and leisure activities in both summer and winter.
– Finally, the towns of Thiers, Saint-Etienne, Le puy-en-Velay and Clermont-Ferrand are about 1 hour’s drive away, and offer the chance to take in the history and architecture of their particular heritage.

Due to the rural environment and the presence of animals in the vicinity, we are unable to welcome pets in complete peace of mind.
Bed linen and towels can be provided for a supplement of €11 per person (full set).
A cleaning fee will be charged at the end of your stay to ensure cleanliness for subsequent guests and to comply with post-covid sanitary measures. This package includes cleaning and disinfecting rooms, cleaning and disinfecting household linen, removing rubbish and tidying up dishes. This package is included in the rental price.
