Effiat
Château d’Effiat was part of a major project by Antoine Coiffier, a friend of Richelieu and advisor to King Louis XIII.His son, the Marquis de Cinq Mars (born in Effiat) was beheaded for his conspiracy against Richelieu.
For groups, daily by appointment.
This residence is exceptional for the region, both for its style and its history. The château was built in the 17th century by Maréchal d’Effiat, the third most powerful man in the kingdom and father of Cinq Mars.

From 02/06 to 27/09/2026 Guided tour on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and weekends from 2.30 pm, from 4 pm and from 5.30 pm.
Closed on Mondays.
From 03/10 to 15/11/2026 Guided tour weekends from 2.30 pm, from 4 pm and from 5.30 pm.
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays only.
